WESTERN CANADA MARINE RESPONSE CORPORATION

Vision and Values

Vision

  • Continue to be a leader in marine spill response

  • Be recognized as an organization that controls costs

  • Aggressively explore related business opportunities

  • Provide long-term benefits to our members

Values and Guiding Principles:

  • We will provide our members with regional, focused marine spill response that is prompt, cost-effective and environmentally sound.

  • We will develop and sustain a safe, high-energy, team-oriented work  environment that challenges our employees, and provide them with opportunities for personal growth and development.

  • We will conduct all our business activities in an ethical, and socially responsible manner that safeguards the marine environment, and all of its inhabitants.

  • Regulations and response standards arising from legislation will be the foundation to define the equipment, personnel, training, management systems and exercise requirements for the Response Organization.

  • We will employ highly-skilled full-time staff capable of developing preparedness plans and managing any initial response.

  • We will build upon existing response resources in British Columbia.

  • A network of pre-staged response equipment to meet the 10,000 tonne certification requirements will always be in a ready state. Burrard Clean Operations (BCO) will support events greater than 10,000 tonnes to the best of our ability.

  • All activities will be conducted in a careful, safe manner.

  • We are committted to the philosophy of continuous improvement.
