Values and Guiding Principles:
-
We will provide our members with regional, focused marine spill response that is prompt, cost-effective and environmentally sound.
-
We will develop and sustain a safe, high-energy, team-oriented work environment that challenges our employees, and provide them with opportunities for personal growth and development.
-
We will conduct all our business activities in an ethical, and socially responsible manner that safeguards the marine environment, and all of its inhabitants.
-
Regulations and response standards arising from legislation will be the foundation to define the equipment, personnel, training, management systems and exercise requirements for the Response Organization.
-
We will employ highly-skilled full-time staff capable of developing preparedness plans and managing any initial response.
-
We will build upon existing response resources in British Columbia.
-
A network of pre-staged response equipment to meet the 10,000 tonne certification requirements will always be in a ready state. Burrard Clean Operations (BCO) will support events greater than 10,000 tonnes to the best of our ability.
-
All activities will be conducted in a careful, safe manner.
-
We are committted to the philosophy of continuous improvement.
