Responsibilities

When an incident occurs and Burrard Clean Operations (BCO) is called out:

  • The Responsible Party (RP) will require one individual to step forward as the Incident Commander who will be responsible for the overall management of the response including the approval of action plans and be capable of making financial commitments on behalf of the company.

  • The Response Organization (RO) supports the RP and collaborates with the Regional Environmental Response Team (REET) during the development of response objectives, strategies and tactics.

 

The RP will be responsible for establishing a Stakeholders Group (Unified Command) to ensure that all voices being impacted are heard and issues considered in the Action Plan. There may include representatives from:

  • Federal and Provincial Governments

  • Municipal Government

  • Parks

  • Department of Fisheries and Oceans

  • Ports

  • First Nations
